ITINERARY

Day 0: Arrival

You will be met at Geneva airport for the 1hour 30-minute transfer to your 4* accommodation - suggested flight times will be provided upon booking. Our staff will be available to assist with bike building. Dinner will be served in the hotel alongside a quick chat about the plans for the next few days. A short spin to check the bikes and local familiarisation.

Day 1: Lac de Derborence

Distance: 60km/37miles
Climbing: 1,600m/5,249ft
Major Climbs: Lac de Derborence 18km, Avg. Gradient 5.4%
Max Gradient 13%

The cycle up to Lac de Derborence is challenging with a punchy 1km section at 10km but the views and the road to the naturally formed glacial lake are stunning. A protected Natural Reserve, the road is cut into the side of the mountain with a series of tunnels cut through the rock. It is a dead-end, so traffic is light. A restaurant at the top overlooking the lake awaits your efforts before making your way back down to the valley floor.

Day 2: The shores of Lake Geneva

Distance: 60km/37miles
Climbing: 60m/196ft

A flatter ride today will see us head towards the shores of Lake Geneva. Starting off along the aqua blue River Rhone we will see lots of villages including the Châteaux d’Aigle. A refreshing dip in Lake Geneva for those brave enough can can be enjoyed whilst we have a picnic lunch on the shores of biggest lake in Western Europe. It’s a train ride back Martigny before heading back to base for a well-earned dinner and some wine tasting.

Day 3: Vineyards of Valais

Distance: 55km/34miles
Climbing: 500m/1,640ft

An early start and after a healthy breakfast, the day starts with a gentle warm up ride along the river Rhone. We start to wind our way up through the small wine producing villages and vineyards of Valais. We will make a quick stop at the smallest registered vineyard in the world, now belonging to the Dalai Lama. The route continues to Sion where we will stop for a quick coffee before our journey through the orchards of Valais and back to the Spa hotel to pack the bike up and start your journey home.
